(KNSI) – Families and friends can enjoy animals, fried food, and entertainment as the annual Stearns County Fair gets underway.

It opened on Wednesday and goes through Sunday at the fairground in Sauk Centre. Exhibitors of all ages prepare for months to showcase all Stearns County has to offer, from cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, goats, and chickens, to flowers, bread, jams, jellies, fine arts, and quilts.

There are events each day, including a draft horse parade, Crescent City Amusements carnival, live music, a ranch rodeo, demolition derbies, animal shows, and more. Thursday is Senior day, Friday is child care provider day and Saturday is children’s day.

New this year is an aquarium that is 24 feet long, four feet wide and three feet high. There will also be the DNR Wall of Shame and animal mounts. For the kids, there are a Wall of Fame and video shooting games.

Officials say the yearly tradition brings in around 30,000 people. This is the 120th Stearns County Fair. For more on the fair, click here.
